147. Melted Minion
Est. Cost: $40*
What Happened: The fondant melted off the cake
There is one basic rule to baking that no one should forget. Whether it’s frosting, icing, or fondant, it needs to go on after the baked cake has thoroughly cooled down. Anything that goes on top of a warm cake will inevitably melt and turn out like this.

Like many others on this list, this amateur baker made the same mistake. When the cake was posted online, many thought the melted version looked like Homer Simpson, so there may be some hope to salvage the cake. But if this was being made for a Minion-themed party, then we can only pray for whoever was behind this mistake.
148. Glow-Down Of Ariel
Est. Cost: $20*
What Happened: An Ariel cake was iced
We don’t even know why this person looked at these frosting colors and thought they seemed like a good fit for an Ariel cake. None of the colors match the picture, and you can never recreate a face out of just frosting.

Baking techniques have advanced enough to make cakes like this easy. You could just print out an edible picture or use various sculpting techniques to create an Ariel cake by hand, but that would take a lot of time.
149. An Egg Massacre
Est. Cost: $10*
What Happened: The deviled eggs exploded
Deviled eggs are a great way to put a spin on your usual eggs and make them stand out with flavor and spice. Dressing them up as little chicks peeking out of their shells makes them look even cuter.

They’re also such a simple dish that you wonder how one could ever mess them up. Maybe this person had an unfortunate incident and accidentally flipped over the plate containing the eggs because that seems like the only viable answer for this.
150. The Great Gatsby
Est. Cost: $25*
What Happened: The Great Gatsby cover did not turn out as intended
The Great Gatsby is undoubtedly one of the best classic books of all time. Even though it has been decades since the book first came out, it is still massively popular among literary and media circles alike.

However, we feel bad for the fan who had to receive this cake for their birthday. Not only does the color not match the actual cover, but the random placement of candies at the bottom as an attempt to recreate the book is just a fail through and through.
