There’s no explanation for why this star keeps getting dimmer. Theories include a very eccentric orbit and an uneven dust circle, but nothing has been confirmed as of yet. Though it is the only F-type main sequence star to fluctuate in such a manner, this star is by no means the only one to experience irregular dimmings.
