Where: Cygnus
Tabby’s Star, which is located in the constellation Cygnus 1,500 light-years from Earth and is resting in its proper place, has been the subject of numerous discussions over the years. The majority of these have to do with the reason behind the star’s occasional 22% brightness decrease, as opposed to the average planet’s yearly brightness drop of less than 1%.

While others speculate that the light is coming from a futuristic alien complex, it is more likely that space dust in the form of dense clouds is somehow involved. In any case, for years to come, astronomers will be baffled by the star that bears the name of Tabetha Boyajian.
