Umuamua, which was discovered by Dr. Robert Weryk in 2017, has the appearance of a “giant space cucumber,” is twice as reflective as a comet, and travels through space apart from the Sun’s orbit. This is most likely because the comet’s frozen gas, which is warmed by the Sun, gets an additional boost from the Sun.

Prof. Avi Loeb of Harvard University was among the academics who believed that the comet’s abrupt energy bursts could only have been caused by an alien space probe. The comet is thought to have entered our Solar System sometime during the Victorian era. Whether a probe or not, Umuamua has already orbited Jupiter and is moving slowly in the direction of the next star system.
