Maldives
There is more to the Maldives than just clear skies, beautiful water, and fine sand. They also concern Thilafushi, a man-made island that serves as a major trash dump. This island is used to gather all of the garbage that visitors leave behind. According to environmentalists, Thilafushi receives more than 330 metric tonnes of waste each day! The government briefly outlawed the delivery of trash to the island in 2011.
